Her mother is in extreme denial about her daughter’s gain. Every year she gets her a size she wishes she was, or hopes, and every year she watches her try them on and sees them looking ten sizes too small. This year, it created an uncomfortable moment where there was silence and maybe even pain in her eyes as she watched my girlfriend from different angles. She looked at me as if to say, “you let my daughter become a human balloon? I don’t even recognize her anymore…my own daughter.” Anyway then my girlfriend decided to eat all the dessert and fall asleep on the couch where everyone watched her gut stick out as she snored louder than the music in the background. Tis’ the season to be gluttonous!
